General size recommendation for one muffler. Wool packaging is designed to last longer than standard muffler mat packaging. It`s also able to handle extreme temperatures. It`s recommended that you change your muffler packing every 10-15 hours to maintain your mufflers peak performance. The more densely you pack the muffler – the longer it will last, better heat insulation, better performance. But will be slightly heavier and will attenuate sound levels less (increase sound). The less densely you pack the muffler – the shorter the life span, less heat insulation, less performance. But will be slightly lighter and will attenuate sound levels more (decrease sound).
